The Budapest Stock Exhange's main BUX index closed down 0.53% at 22,153.63 on Monday as the re-emergence of worries regarding Portugal's sovereign debt weighed on sentiment at bourses throughout Europe. MOL was the only blue hip to gain on the BSE.
OTP Bank fell 1.15% to HUF 5,229 on turnover of HUF 6.5 billion, oil and gas company MOL gained 0.70% to HUF 21,650 on turnover of HUF 3.6 billion, drug maker Richter lost 1.76% to HUF 43,500 on turnover of HUF 1.3 billion and Magyar Telekom finished the session flat at HUF 549 on turnover of HUF 0.6 billion.
Share turnover amounted to HUF 12.3 billion for the session. The bourse's mid-cap BUMIX index fell 0.53% to 1,952.58. Big Western European share indices were all falling, with London's FTSE losing 0.48%, Frankfurt's DAX dropping 1.24%, and the CAC-40 in Paris falling 1.50%. Elsewhere in the CEE region, Warsaw's WIG-20 lost 1.04% and Prague's PX-50 fell 2.29%. (MTI-Econews)
