The Budapest Stock Exchange finished Friday's trade up 0.6% at 22,830 after the publication of US manufacturing figures showed activity grew at a much-faster-than-expected pace in June, propelling the BSE benchmark index to a week end gain.
The BUX jumped over 200 during the final hour of trade following the publication of the US manufacturing data, closing 137 higher on a turnover of HUF 13 billion. The BUX fluctuated in a 1.7% range between an intraday low of 22,441 at 10:30 am and a high at the index's closing mark of 22,830.
The four blue chips stood as follows at Friday's closing bell:
Oil and gas company MOL jumped 1.4% to HUF 21,300 on a turnover of HUF 4.52 billion.
OTP Bank advanced 0.9% to HUF 6,020 on a turnover of HUF 7.38 billion.
Magyar Telekom inched up 0.2% to HUF 590 on a turnover of HUF 489 million.
Drugmaker Richter fell 0.7% to HUF 35,965 on a turnover of HUF 364 million.
