The Budapest Stock Exchange’s blue-chip BUX index closed Tuesday trade up 0.78% to 16,921.53 on advances of over 1% from heavyweight issuers MOL and OTP Bank.
The BUX gained 131.72 points on a composite exchange turnover of HUF 11.48bn, fluctuating in a 2.11% range between an intra-session high of 17,149.15 at 9:45 a.m. and an intra-session low of 16,786.94 shortly before 3:00 p.m.
BSE blue-chips stood as follows at Tuesday’s closing bell:
OTP Bank gained 2.03% to HUF 3,020 on an exchange-high turnover of HUF 8.83bn, or 76.9% of the BSE’s total Tuesday trade;
Oil and gas company MOL advanced 1.59% to HUF 17,910 on a turnover of HUF 1.75bn;
Magyar Telekom gained 0.60% to HUF 500 on a turnover of HUF 351m;
Drug company Richter lost 1.70% to HUF 34,600 on a turnover of HUF 544m.
The BSE Big Four generated an extraordinarily high 99.96% of the exchange’s composite Tuesday turnover.
