BUX down 0.57% at noon, losing as European blue-chip peers gain

The Budapest Stock Exchange's BUX index was down 0.57% at noon on Thursday, losing in spite of forenoon gains from blue-chip indices throughout Europe.

The BUX commenced afternoon trade 104.71 points lower at 18,381.34 on a composite exchange turnover of HUF 4.76 billion.

BSE blue-chips stood as follows at Thursday noon:

    OTP Bank was down 1.19% at HUF 4,230 on an exchange-high turnover of HUF 3.22 billion;

    Magyar Telekom was down 0.78% at HUF 508 on a turnover of HUF 293 million;

    Oil and gas company MOL was down 0.29% at HUF 17,000 on a turnover of HUF 1.13 billion;

    Drug company Richter was down 0.17% at HUF 34,940 on a turnover of HUF 63 million.

Major European blue-chip stock indices were in positive territory at midday, with London's FTSE-100 up 0.86% and Frankfurt's Xetra DAX up 1.19%.

The BUX's central and eastern European high-cap peer indices were also higher at noon, with Prague's PX-50 up 1.15% and Warsaw's WIG-20 up 0.57%.
