Broker companies doing well

Despite the record-low turnover at the Budapest Stock Exchange, the independent broker companies marked significant increase last year with the total profit reaching HUF 6 billion, says business daily Napi Gazdaság.

The extra profit is primarily due to the increased stock activity of the local private investors, a trend that the business paper expects to continue.

It is also noteworthy that the broker companies are likely to make no serious investments this year since almost 89% of their total profit is taken out in dividend. (MTI – Econews)
