Double-counted share turnover on the Budapest Stock Exchange (BSE) was HUF 594bn in May, down 22% from April, the BSE said on Wednesday, citing data compiled from brokers.
Share turnover accounted for 94% of total spot market turnover in May. Including turnover of investment fund units, compensation coupons, certificates, government securities, corporate bonds and mortgage bonds, spot market turnover was HUF 631bn, down 20% from April.
Erste Investment generated the most turnover in May, brokering deals worth HUF 133bn. Concorde Securities was runner-up with turnover of HUF 72bn, followed by Wood and Company with HUF 60bn.
On the derivatives market, turnover of BUX futures rose to HUF 199bn from HUF 160bn. Deals for individual shares fell to HUF 150bn from HUF 185bn.
Turnover of grain futures rose to HUF 6.7bn in May from HUF 6bn in April.
