The Budapest Stock Exchange blue-chip BUX index opened Tuesday trade marginally higher at 23,158.
Drug maker Richter was up 0.1% at HUF 36,550. Oil and gas company MOL edged up 0.1% to HUF 22,770. OTP Bank opened practically unchanged at HUF 6,201.Magyar Telekom was flat at HUF 538.
On Monday, the BUX closed 0.8% lower at 23,147.84 on a turnover of HUF 13.1 billion.
Tamás Gerőcs of Equilor Investment said many Budapest Stock Exchange investors are likely to idle in a wait-and-see mode on Tuesday as they seek to reorient amid current global market conditions and ahead of Thursday's publication of quarterly earnings reports from BSE heavyweights MOL and OTP.
