Double-counted turnover on the Budapest Stock Exchange (BÉT) was Ft 985.2 billion in February, 16.5% more than in the previous month, according to figures from brokerages compiled by the bourse.The BUX, the bourse's main index, rose 4.6% to 23,220 by the last day of February. On February 27, the BUX reached an all-time high of 24,082, up 15.9% from the start of the year. Spot market turnover rose 19% to Ft 1,057.6 billion in February, compared to January. On the derivatives market, turnover of BUX futures rose 5% to Ft 229.9 billion, and turnover of shares futures increased 10% to Ft 247.3 billion. Turnover of grain futures increased 35% to Ft 3.45 billion. Turnover of government bonds and T-bills decreased 25% to Ft 11.6 billion. Turnover of corporate bonds and mortgage bonds doubled to Ft 60.6 billion.
Erste Bank Investment Rt led brokerages in terms of turnover on the exchange in February, making deals worth Ft 195 billion. K&H Equities Rt was in second place, with deals of Ft 157.4 billion, and HVB Bank Hungary Rt was third, with deals worth Ft 154 billion.
