Hungarian financial institutions paid a total of HUF 88.8 billion into the budget in the second installment of an extraordinary levy by the Friday deadline, the National Economy Ministry told MTI on Monday.
The payments bring total revenue from the tax for the year to HUF 181.8 billion.
The first installment of the tax was due by September 30.
Most financial institutions' “disciplined fulfillment of their responsibilities” has done much to help Hungary achieve its 3.8%-of-GDP general government deficit target for 2010, the ministry said. (MTI-Econews)
