Printing company Állami Nyomda Nyrt had consolidated net profit of Ft 216 million in the first quarter of 2006, 47.1% more than in the same period a year earlier, the company said in its report for the period, prepared with International Financial Reporting Standards and published on Monday.
Állami Nyomda's revenue increased 47.8% to Ft 3.28 billion in Q1 2006 compared to the same period in 2005. The report noted that sales revenue is significantly influenced by the seasonal effect of big orders. Revenue from secure documents doubled to Ft 1.21 billion. Revenue from card production and placement of data on cards accounted for less revenue than secure documents, but increased 121.6%.
Revenue from printed materials for Hungary's general elections in April came to Ft 39 million in the first quarter, but most revenue from this order was recorded in April and will show up only in the second quarter, the company said.
Exports accounted for 7.3% of first quarter revenue, compared to 3.6% in the same period a year earlier. Állami Nyomda's margin was Ft 1.01 billion in Q1 2006, 23.9% more than a year earlier. Operating profit rose 46.6% to Ft 247.48 million.
