Voting on Hungary’s media law is delayed

The European Parliament pushed back its voting date addressing the Hungarian government’s proposed amendments to its media law, the  MTI reported on Thursday. European Union MPs were scheduled to vote late this week on the law, however amendments to the law were submitted most recently. A number of MEPs expressed the difficulty of such a time constraint, asking for additional time to review the ramifications of such changes. On Wednesday, the Hungarian government sent the European Parliament amendments addressing the four areas of the media law as mandated by the Commission.
