Hungary to coordinate three priority areas in Danube strategy

Hungary is to coordinate the "encourage more sustainable energy" area with the Czech Republic, the "restore and maintain the quality of waters" area with Slovakia" and the "manage environmental risks" area with Romania.

The strategy aims to establish strong cooperation between the countries in the Danube region, "making a more optimal use of all EU funding available, without reserving new funds, setting new rules or creating new institutions," the European Commission said in a statement. The strategy covers eight EU member states and six other countries in Europe. (MTI)
