Wind turbines made by Denmark's Vestas account for 41% of the wind power capacity in Hungary, more than turbines made by any other company, NRG Systems, Vestas's exclusive distributor in Hungary, told MTI.
The combined capacity of Vestas wind turbines in Hungary will reach 81MW when it completes a 25MW capacity expansion at a wind farm in northern Hungary.
NRG Systems did not reveal the cost of the turbines, but MTI learned that wind power capacity costs HUF 350 million-HUF 400 million per MW and investors usually recoup their money within ten years.
Gamesa is the runner-up on Hungary's wind power market, having built 74MW of capacity, or 37% of the total. In third place is RePower with 24MW or 12% of total capacity.
Wind power capacity in Hungary is expected to rise to 330MW by year end and to 740MW by 2015. (MTI-ECONEWS)
