Turkey's energy minister Guler Hilmi expressed his country's support for the Nabucco gas pipeline at a summit on the project, which would deliver gas from Central Asia to Europe, in Budapest on Tuesday.
It is hoped an intergovernment agreement on the project can be signed at a Nabucco summit in Turkey to take place some time in the coming months, Hilmi said. The text of the agreement started to be prepared last week, he added.
Though there are still differing interests, the parties understand each other better, and there is a good chance the agreement could be signed, Hilmi said.
Turkey's gas supply and delivery are already diversified and domestic demand can be met, he added. (MTI – Econews)
