Slovenia is deliberating over building its second nuclear power plant by 2020 and prolonging Nuklearna Elektrarna Krsko, its currently only plant’s lifecycle by 20 years, announced state-owned energy company Gen Energija, Paks Press reported.
Joze Spiler, investment manager of Gen Energija expects to get green light for the new project from the government and the Parliament next year. It the plan were accepted, the plant can be installed by 2020, said Spiler, adding that the lifecycle would be 60 years. He estimated the investment costs at about €3 billion-€4 billion.
