Russia and Belarus agree to end oil dispute, Lukashenko says

Russia and Belarus have agreed to end a dispute over oil duties that led to the closing of Russia's main export pipeline to Europe, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said on his Web site.

The two sides agreed to end the deadlock during a telephone conversation between Lukashenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin today, according to the statement. Officials from both countries will submit draft proposals to the presidents for review on January 12. (Bloomberg)
