MVM Trade, the trade unit of the state-owned Hungarian Electricity Works (MVM), sold 5.625 TWh of electricity at an auction on October 27 and 28, MVM told MTI late Tuesday.
The average price at the auction was Ft 19.695 per kWh. About 85% of the electricity sold went to domestic consumers.
MVM Trade offered about half of the electricity it did at an auction a year earlier, because new rules require it to keep far more capacity for retail consumers and public institutions. MVM’s share of the electricity wholesale market was further reduced, by about one-third, because of the elimination of long-term purchase contracts. (MTI-Econews)
