Hungarian oil and gas company Mol Nyrt, the country's largest fuel distributor, will lower the price of 95-octane petrol by Ft 4 per liter and that of diesel by Ft 5 per liter as of Wednesday, MTI learnt from market sources on Monday.
Mol last reduced diesel prices by Ft 8 a liter a week ago, and petrol prices by Ft 2 a liter late last year.
The change will bring the retail price of diesel to below Ft 250, and that of 95-octane petrol to about Ft 250, although prices may vary by as much as Ft 15 at different filling stations.
Market insiders attributed the decision to falling global petrol prices triggered by the unusually warm weather, which reduces overall oil consumption.
