MOL suspends oil well in Pakistan due to kidnapping

Oil group MOL Nyrt said it suspended production at its Maramzai well in Pakistan, a site near which two of its subcontractors were killed and two kidnapped last week. "About 90 people, most of them MOL employees, work there," MOL spokeswoman Andrea Pánczél told Reuters. "Production from that well, only that well, has been suspended temporarily." The well accounts for some one-eighth of MOL's total crude and natural gas output in Pakistan, or about 1,600 barrels of crude and 40 million cubic feet of gas per day. Pánczél didn't say how long the Maramzai well will remain shut. (BBJ)
