Lukoil to add service stations in Hungary

OAO Lukoil, Russia's largest oil producer, plans to expand its filling-station network in Hungary to gain market share, the business newspaper Világgazdaság said.

Lukoil will open 13 new filling stations by the end of this year, raising the number of its units to 50, Világgazdaság said, citing Chitan Valeriu, the managing director of Lukoil Magyarország Kft., the Russian company's Hungarian unit. Lukoil has a 3 % share of the Hungarian fuel market, Világgazdaság said. Lukoil's stations are supplied by Petrotel-Lukoil SA, the company's Romanian refinery, and Hungarian energy company Mol Rt., Világgazdaság added. The Russian company entered the Hungarian fuel market in 2004 with retail prices lower than competitors already operating in Hungary, the newspaper said.
