Inter-Tram Kft plans to complete a Ft 1.1 billion biofuel plant in Mátészalka, northeast Hungary by August, CEO Ferenc Szántó announced at a press conference together with Minister of Agriculture József Graf on Monday.
Inter-Tram is receiving Ft 240 million in state subsidies for the project and a further Ft 300 million loan from the EU on which the state will pay the interest. The plant is expected to process 2,000 tons of sunflower seeds, turning them into biodiesel during its trial run in August, and it could process a further 12,000 tons by the end of the harvest season, all of which will be purchased by MOL Rt, which will mix it with diesel fuel.
