Hungary continues to seek EU funding for linking the Hungarian-Croatian gas pipeline and the Hungarian-Slovak power grids, Deputy Foreign Minister Gábor Iván said in parliament.
Hungary is still lobbying the European Commission (EC) and EU member states to have the two projects included on the list of those to be supported as part of measures aimed at reviving the EU economy, Iván told the foreign affairs committee.
In late January, the EC revealed the list of projects to receive support, including contributions of €25 million for a gas interconnector between Hungary and Slovakia and €30 million for a gas interconnector between Hungary and Romania. Hungary also submitted proposals for linking the Hungarian-Croatian gas pipeline and Hungarian-Slovak power grids, though they did not make the list. (MTI – Econews)
