The energy ministers of Hungary and Croatia signed a cooperation agreement on building and operating an electrical power line between the two countries in Budapest.
Hungarian energy minister Péter Hónig and his counterpart Duro Popijac signed the agreement which creates the legal conditions for building the 400kV power line.
The line, to be completed in April 2010, will increase security of supply for communities in the border region between Hungary and Croatia.
Transmission system operator Mavir will build the line on the Hungarian side and HEP-OPS will be in charge of construction in Croatia. The part of the line in Hungary will cost HUF 5 billion to build. (MTI - Econews)
