Gazprom's joint venture in Moldova said that a blast had damaged only one of three transit pipelines carrying Russian gas to the Balkans, a news agency reported.
The blast damaged a pipeline on the territory of Moldova's separatist region of Transdniestria, whose agency Olvia Press quoted an executive from Gazprom's venture as saying the blast would only temporarily reduce shipments.
Olvia quoted Alexander Gusev as saying the venture has taken steps to supply more gas via the two undamaged pipelines and added that gas transit to the Balkans would not be fully halted.
