E.ON AG, the world's largest utility, will keep a majority stake in two Hungarian natural gas units it bought from Mol Rt, company executives said.
“We will retain our majority stake in the Mol gas companies as well as strategic control. We have come to stay,” Ulrich Schoeler, chairman of the management board at E.ON Ruhrgas International AG, said at a briefing in Budapest on Monday.
E.ON has offered to swap some of its Hungarian assets for a stake in OAO Gazprom's Yuzhno-Russkoye field, which holds 1.2 trillion cubic meters of gas.
