German utilities giant E.ON's HUF 5.5 billion combined-cycle power plant in Gönyű was connected to Hungary's electricity grid.
The first gas turbine at the 425MW plant will be fired up in a month, said Zoltán Katona, managing director of E.ON's power plant unit in Hungary. The plant was completed on schedule and costs were as planned, he added.
The plant is connected to the transmission system with a 14km power line. (MTI – Econews)
