Emfesz, the biggest player on Hungary's deregulated gas market, started sales on the retail market on June.Emfesz signed up 6,500 clients - drawn by promises of 8% lower gas prices - on its website gas.hu by the beginning of June, said sales and marketing director András Biczók at a press conference in Budapest on Thursday.
Hungary's retail gas market was deregulated from July 2007, but Emfesz is the first company to enter the market.
Emfesz sells 3 billion cubic meters of gas a year, or one-fifth of total consumption in Hungary. It controls about 70% of the deregulated gas market, supplying some 200 big industrial customers. The company had revenue of Ft 190 billion in 2007. (MTI – Econews)
