Energy company ELMIB Energetikai Zrt and the local government of northern Hungary’s Tatabánya have jointly submitted a successful bid to purchase the operator of the local power plant, Tatabányai Erőmű Kft, from state-owned power wholesaler MVM Zrt, ELMIB said in a press release.
József Kele, CEO of ELMIB said the deal fits in well with the company’s business strategy. As the global crisis has a far smaller effect on the energy industry than other sectors of the economy, the company has not been compelled to modify its 2009 targets, he added. The deal will become finalized once it is approved by the MVM assembly. (press release)
