Electricity use in Hungary peaked around 6,159 megawatts on Wednesday as people battled the summer heat with air conditioners, but reserves are still enough to meet demand, transmission system operator Mavir told MTI.
Electricity use was still under the peak of 6,320 megawatts reached in the summer of 2007, Mavir said.
Domestic electricity production was 4,021 megawatts in the afternoon on Wednesday. Imports covered the rest of demand. Mavir still has about 2,000 megawatts of capacity, thanks in part to the high level of imports, Mavir said. (MTI – Econews)
