The retail price of electricity will rise 4.6% from February 1, the Economics and Transportation Ministry announced on its website on Friday.
The retail price of electricity will increase to Ft 38.53 per kWh, while the off-peak price will increase 7.9% to Ft 22.92. Retail electricity prices last changed at the beginning of August 2006, when they increased 12.6%.
The price of electricity purchased by non-retail consumers on the regulated part of the market will also rise by 4.6% from February, the ministry said. System use fees payable by these consumers will also change, varying from a 7.4% drop to a 2.1% increase, depending on voltage. (Bloomberg, Napi Gazdaság)
