The Dunamenti Power Plant on Thursday said it is undertaking €220 million in investments to boost efficiency and make the plant more environmentally friendly.
The plant will renovate one of its six gas turbines and install another one to start operating by 2011. At the same time it will demolish blocks that have been taken out of service.
The Dunamenti Power Plant, owned by France's GDF-SUEZ group, is one of the country's biggest power plants, with built-in capacity of 1,736MW. It sold 3,177 GWh of electricity in 2008, accounting for 8.4% of all electricity sales in Hungary. (MTI-ECONEWS)
