BP restarts large Whiting CDU, FCCU work continues

BP has begun the restart of the large, sweet crude 235,000 barrel-per-day distillation unit at its 410,000 bpd Whiting, Indiana refinery while work continued on the smaller of the two gasoline-making fluid catalytic cracking units, trade sources said.

BP was also preparing to perform planned maintenance on one of the smaller crude units, trade sources said.

The large crude unit went down for work in early March. There is no estimate for when 64,000 bpd fluid catalytic cracking unit will return.

The refinery also has a 105,000 bpd cat cracker which is operating. (Reuters)
