Bio-diesel production to start in Visonta, Hungary

The new bio-diesel plant in Visonta (North-East Hungary), scheduled to start production in October, will supply 30%-35% of Hungary's annual bio-diesel demand, making it the largest factory in the country, operator Zöldolaj BB Zrt claimed.

Greenwest Kft and Befektetői és Beszállítói Zrt, the latter owned by the Hungarian Development Bank (MFB), have invested Ft 3.5 billion ($18.8 million) so far, and a Ft 2 billion technological development is already in the plans. The plant will process 120,000 tons of rape to produce 39 tons of oil annually for Hungarian oil company Mol Nyrt. (Napi Gazdaság)
