Azerbaijan is interested in supplying the planned Nabucco pipeline with gas for sale in Europe, János Kóka, who chairs Parliament's Nabucco committee, told MTI after meeting with Azeri deputy energy minister Gulmammad Javadov in Budapest.
Azerbaijan has 1,200 billion cubic meters of gas reserves, which is enough to supply the Nabucco pipeline's annual 31 billion-cubic-meter transfer capacity in the long term, Javadov said at the meeting.
Hungary and Azerbaijan agree that countries involved with the Nabucco project need to act together, establish deadlines and take resolute leadership for the pipeline to be built, Kóka said.
The Nabucco pipeline would deliver gas from Central Asia to Europe, reducing the region's energy dependence on Russia. (MTI – Econews)
