Aufwind Schmack GmbH of Germany plans to spend €100 million building windmills in northwest Hungary, business daily Napi Gazdaság reported.
AET Alternatív Energia Kft, Aufwind's Hungarian unit, plans to construct 105 windmills at seven settlements near the Austrian border, the paper said, citing managing director Sándor Kecskés. The windmills are expected to have a capacity of at least 2 MW each. Forty-five windmills are scheduled to be built this year with the remaining 60 constructed at a later date.
The Hungarian Energy Office issued operation licenses for wind projects with a combined planned capacity of 330 MW, Napi Gazdaság said.
