The Hungarian unit of Germany's Aufwind Neue Energien plans to start test operation of a HUF 3.9 billion biogas plant it is building in Szarvas (SE Hungary) in April, Aufwind Schmack Első Biogáz told MTI on Wednesday.
The plant is to be inaugurated in June.
Construction of the 4.2MW plant is supported by HUF 500 million in European Union and state funding.
The plant will use 132,000 tonnes of feedstock -- some to be supplied by neighbouring agribusiness Gallicoop Pulykafeldolgozó -- to generate an annual 27.6m kWh of electricity as well as heat energy. (MTI Econews)
