Website to make Hungarian households more financially savvy

Hungary will launch an interactive website that aims to broaden financial literacy among households by the end of May, government commissioner for financial rights György Doubravszky said at a conference in Pécs on Wednesday. The goal of the website is to raise Hungarians' financial awareness by expanding their knowledge, allowing them to make financial decisions not on an emotional basis, but deliberately and soberly, Doubravszky said. He said financial service providers were not expected to and not asked to provide support for the website. “The uniformed client generates extra profit [for financial service providers], which must be acknowledged,” he added.
