Hungary’s average unemployment rate was 7.7% in August-October 2008, unchanged from July-September, but up 0.4 percentage point from the same three-month period a year earlier, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported.
The figures are for the 15-74 age group.
The average number of unemployed was 327,900 in the 15-74 age group in the three-month period, up 200 from July-September. The number of unemployed rose 17,100 in one year.
According to harmonized figures compiled by Eurostat, Hungary's unemployment rate was 7.8% in September, compared to 6.9% in the EU-15 and 6.8% in EU-27 during the month. (MTI – Econews)
