January trade surplus figure nearing €401 million, with exports up 21.2% year-on-year in volume terms Hungary had a trade surplus of €400.8m in January, down €61m from a year earlier, and also down from €429.8m in December, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) said in a second reading on Friday.
The final figure was broadly in line with the preliminary figure of €400.6 billion published by KSH on March 4.
The trade surplus was a balance of €6.1 billion of exports and €5.7 billion of imports.
Exports were up 26.1% yr/yr in euro terms, and rose 21.2% in volume terms. Imports were up 30.2% yr/yr in euro terms and rose 22.9% yr/yr in volume terms.
