Slightly more than three-quarters of Hungarians say that corruption has increased over the past three years, according to the newly published Transparency International (TI) 2010 Global Corruption Barometer.

A total of 76% of Hungarians participating in the Transparency International poll said that corruption has increased over the past three years, compared to 73% of respondents in all 19 European Union countries surveyed in the organization's 2010 Global Corruption Barometer.

Worldwide, 56% of respondents said that corruption had increased over the past three years.

Only 4% of Hungarians said that corruption had decreased over the past three years, still slightly higher than the 3% of all respondents in European Union member states who said that corruption had decreased over the period. (MTI – Econews)
