Hungary's National Infrastructure Development Company (NIF) has called a tender for the second phase of the renovation and expansion of a broad-gauge railway network in the Záhony region near Hungary's border with Ukraine, NIF said.
The deadline for bidding in the tender is January 20, 2011. Results will be announced on March 14 and the contract signed on March 25. The planned date for completing the project is December 15, 2011.
The first phase of the project was completed at the end of November.
The entire project is supported with a HUF 16.1 billion grant, of which European Union funding makes up 85%.
Hungary aims to turn the Záhony region into a logistics hub for the region. (MTI – Econews)
