Talks between gov't, energy companies are “intensive and constructive”

“Intensive and constructive” talks between power companies and the government on energy prices are ongoing, MTI learnt from market sources.

A moratorium on gas and electricity price changes for utilities companies classed as “universal service providers” - those that deliver gas and electricity to households, small consumers and public institutions using a price structure and price level controlled by state authorities, thus mitigating exposure to market forces - was introduced early in the summer and was to remain in place until talks on pricing with utilities companies were completed.

In mid-August, state secretary at the National Development Ministry Pál Völner told MTI that an agreement with the companies could be reached in the middle of September. (MTI – Econews)
