Russia pays back over $1 bln in foreign debt

Vnesheconombank has transferred some $1.06 billion to J.P. Morgan Chase Bank, London in a scheduled payment on Eurobonds as part of Russia's foreign government debt settlement, the bank's press office reported.

Hence, $422.808 million was transferred as payment on the principal amount of debt and interest on Eurobonds maturing in 2010, and $636.545 million went towards coupon payments on Eurobonds maturing in 2030. (rbcnews.com)
