River cities, towns form association to implement EU's Danube Strategy

About half of the 150 municipalities along the Hungarian stretch of the Danube have established an association to help implement the European Union's Danube Strategy, Péter Gauder, head of Studio Metropolitana City Development Workshop, told MTI.

About 2.5 million people live in the member municipalities of the association, called Danube Partnership Network, Gauder said.

The EU's Danube Strategy could be adopted when Hungary takes the revolving EU presidency in the first half of 2011. (MTI – Econews)
