The changes to the tax system initiated by the government will indeed lead to simplifying the scheme in effect, however, there are still twice as many tax types as necessary, according to tax consultancy PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
Currently, dodging payment of taxes is something of a “national sport,” said Gabriella Erős on behalf of the company, speaking to Gazdasági Rádió.
The only way to change this state is to reduce the volume of burdens on labor, paired with a measurable increase in the intensity of controlling, Erős said.
The central plan of a simple 5% reduction will in all likeliness not be sufficient to lead to genuine changes, she added. (Gazdasági Rádió)
