PSzÁF Chairman Ádám Farkas resigns

Chairman Ádám Farkas of Hungary's financial-market regulator PSzÁF has submitted his resignation effective June 30, Farkas informed MTI on Tuesday morning.

Farkas told MTI that he had elected to resign after serving less than one year of his six-year mandate in order to provide the Fidesz-led government with the opportunity to appoint its own candidate to serve as the chairman of PSzÁF.

Parliament accepted PSzÁF's 2009 annual report by a large majority on Monday. (MTI-Econews)
