Private pension fund association Stabilitás has asked the Constitution Court to retroactively annul the recent amendments concerning private pension funds, Stabilitás said on its website on Wednesday.
In October parliament approved a 14-months suspension of state transfers to the private pension-fund system, while in November parliament approved legislation ending mandatory membership in private pension funds for career-starters and giving existing members of the funds the option to join the state pension system, bringing their pension savings with them.
The Stabilitás association regards the government's planned measures concerning the private pension funds as blackmail, and has turned to the Constitution Court and the Strasbourg human rights court, the statement said.
Stabilitás General Secretary Mrs István Juhász said that the amendments violate the constitutional prohibition of negative discrimination and protection of property and respect for human dignity. (MTI-Econews)
