Poland gross wages rise less than expected in March

Poland’s monthly gross wages increased at a slower pace than expected by economists in March, latest data showed Wednesday. Average gross monthly wages increased 1.6% on an annual basis in March, the Central Statistical Office said. The growth was notably slower than 2.5% economists had forecast. Month-on-month, gross wages advanced 3.3% in March, while economists were looking for a 4.3% gain. Meanwhile, employment in Poland decreased 0.9% year-on-year in March. Compared to February, the number of employees dropped by 0.2%.
