Prime Minister Viktor Orbán signed a cooperation agreement with László Szűcs, head of the Medical Tourism Office, at a conference on dental tourism on Thursday. Dental tourism is one of the major development chances of the Hungarian economy, Orbán said at the conference.
The state supports the development program drawn up by professionals of the field as dental tourism generates about HUF 60 billion in annual revenue, which can make this field one of the major development chances of the economy, and it can also create numerous workplaces, Orbán said. The sector will receive HUF 31 billion in state subsidy for now, but this can be multiplied later on.
National Economy Minister György Matolcsy, the chief patron of the conference, stressed that spa and dental tourism receive speical attention in the New Széchenyi Plan.
