Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that Hungary's 2010 budget deficit was 3.9% of GDP, Reuters reported.
The government's official 2010 deficit target was an accrual based 3.8% of GDP according to European System of Accounts (ESA 95).
Orbán was probably talking about the cash-flow deficit, as Hungary is due to publish December preliminary cash-flow budget data on Friday, and accrual based figures are due in the spring.
“According to figures from last night, so they can be considered official, the 2010 deficit was 3.9% in Hungary,” Orbán told foreign reporters. (MTI – Econews)
